Automation that makes processes stable

How do stable and efficient processes emerge along the entire process chain?

When feeding, handling, and end-of-line are coordinated, stable and efficient processes are created. KOCH automates along the entire process chain in such a way that output and quality are permanently ensured.

From the coordinated process to the complete solution

Automation is part of the system at KOCH, not an add-on.

Automation is only effective when processes and control logic are coordinated from the very beginning. That’s why we start with your requirements and define which steps should be automated, which quality data is needed, and how the line will be integrated into your environment.

This creates an end-to-end solution that simplifies operation, supports stable processes, and minimizes interface risks.

Where automation has the greatest leverage

Typical challenges addressed by automation

  • High variant diversity leads to unstable feeding and frequent interventions
  • High cycle rates place high demands on handling and buffer logic
  • Manual steps increase the effort for rework and quality assurance
  • End of line is a bottleneck, even though the machine has capacity
  • Missing data complicates traceability, audit, and well-founded decisions

Automation Concepts from KOCH

Four system worlds that can be seamlessly combined

The following modules form the core of KOCH automation concepts. Depending on the product, cycle time, and environment (for example, medplus®), they are precisely integrated and centrally controlled.

Feeding and Handling Systems

Flexible material flow for stable processes

Labeling Systems

Precise labeling for maximum safety

Control and Inspection Systems

Inline quality assurance without cycle time loss

Transport and Conveyor Systems

Stable product flow across all process steps

Feeding and Handling Systems

Our Feeding and Handling Systems ensure a precise, automated material flow. Whether bulk material or pre-sorted products: Modern robotics such as the KOCH Delta Robot System KRH-D separates, sorts, and places products with precision.

The result: stable processes, high efficiency, and maximum flexibility.

Labeling Systems

The KOCH Labeling Systems enable precise and automated printing of packaging, labels, and products. Laser, thermal inkjet, thermal transfer, and DOD printing implement variable data such as batch numbers, expiration information, or codes cleanly and reliably.

Note: All solutions are precisely integrated and, in the medplus® version, meet all regulatory requirements.

Control and Inspection Systems

You achieve holistic quality control in the packaging process even at high speeds with our Control and Inspection Systems. Sensors, weight control, code readers, and modern vision systems check products, print images, and positions in real time. All results are transmitted directly to the machine control system, ensuring stable, transparent, and error-free processes.

Note: The medplus® version additionally meets all regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector

Transport and Conveyor Systems

Our Transport and Conveyor Systems enable a consistently smooth product flow in the packaging process. Flexible linear systems move individual carriers independently, position products precisely, and reliably compensate for different process speeds.

The result: stable processes, short cycle times, and a seamless transfer between all stations – ideal for modern modular solutions.

Automation in interaction with standard, KMO and customized

Standard Machines

Extension to include feeding, inspection, labeling, and end-of-line, without changing the existing machine logic.

Modular Lines (KMO)

Automation as plug and play: Add modules, scale performance, and flexibly exchange functions.

Customized Solutions:

Development of individual special functions when product, material or process place special requirements.

Turnkey: Automation as a complete system

When everything is integrated, the line runs stably.

Turnkey means: automation, quality assurance, labeling, and end of line are coordinated as a complete system. This creates stable processes along the process chain, with clear responsibility and predictable milestones.
